Having enjoyed singing from a very early age, at age 6 James won a scholarship to Canterbury Cathedral Choir. which he joined when 8.

For 5 years this enabled him to gain a classical/choral music education. He developed his voice control, performance skills and honed his love of singing. As a key member of this professional choir he had the opportunity to perform many difficult and exposed solos including the Miserere Mei – Allegri and The Advent Responsory – Marlow.
