More about James

Having enjoyed singing from a very early age, at age 6 James won a scholarship to Canterbury Cathedral Choir. which he joined when 8.

For 5 years this enabled him to gain a classical/choral music education. He developed his voice control, performance skills and honed his love of singing. As a key member of this professional choir he had the opportunity to perform many difficult and exposed solos including the Miserere Mei by Allegri, and The Advent Responsory by Marlow.

After the Cathedral Choir, James completed an ARSM singing diploma aged 13, and now, with his new Tenor voice, has completed an ATCL singing diploma, and is in the process of working towards an LTCL diploma in singing – equivalent to a full undergraduate degree!

James maintains an active musical profile in the local community, and is a member of his local church choir, where he often sings solos for both routine and special services. As well as this, he is also involved in numerous ensembles at his school, including the Chapel and Chamber Choirs.

James is a natural musician and is comfortable singing in a wide range of styles.
