James appeared on ITV’s Voice Kids 2020 and his classical version of You’ll Never Walk Alone (which can be found on the Hear James Page), impressed Paloma Faith and the audience with Paloma’s chair turn taking him through to another performance in the Battles. Here he sang Bridge Over Troubled Water as part of the battle trio.

In August 2020 James appeared as Angellica Bell’s Young Artist of the week on Scala Radio singing Pie Jesu by Gabriel Faure.

James was also a reserve semi finalist for the BBC Young Chorister of the Year 2020 in association with BBC Songs of Praise and BBC Radio 2. 

For 5 years James has performed in daily services for 6 days every week with Canterbury Cathedral Choir plus singing for Christmas, Easter, weddings, funerals, and County Events in the Cathedral.

With the Cathedral Choir he has also sung in The Vatican and in The Church of St Ignatius of Loyola in Rome and in 2018 toured America, During the two weeks of the tour he sang in 6 concerts and 2 services in states from Los Angeles to Summit New Jersey.

He also recorded with the Choir in the famous Abbey Road studios.

He has sung regularly in local churches and care homes, often solo for both regular and more important events.
